“It is important I be a friend to the person going through a divorce, custody dispute, etc.  Going through a divorce is in some ways harder than dealing with the death of a loved one. People need to know it is going to get worse before it gets better. My job is to make the hard parts simple on the legal side, so they can focus on their own healing and moving on with their lives.”

– Myra

Meet Myra

Myra Chack Fleischer founded Fleischer Law Office in 2001. In 2013, she added the respected law office of Richard R. Ravreby to her firm. Together they formed the new firm Fleischer & Ravreby, based in Carlsbad, California. Fleischer serves as Lead Counsel, and she focuses on high asset divorce cases and litigation, including property, custody and support issues, settlement agreements, mediation, asset divisions, and family law appeals. Her financial background combined with her law expertise is a key factor in Myra’s success. Striving to avoid court where possible, Myra drives settlement of assets through mediation, while maintaining a formidable reputation as a fierce litigator when it’s called for. Myra is a strong believer in the need for advocacy of children and to the sensitive practice of domestic law.

Experience & Education

Myra has been practicing law in San Diego since 1997. She also has experience in civil litigation. Fleischer is one of only 200 Certified Family Law Specialists (CLS-F) in San Diego County, a designation which denotes specialized expertise in this area of family law. Prior to becoming an attorney, Myra worked for 10 years in public accounting and then as the controller of an international mid-sized software company.

Fleischer received her JD (Juris Doctorate) from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, California. During her time as a student, she was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Bancroft Whitney Award in Federal Income Taxation. Prior to law school, Myra attended Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She majored in marketing and earned a B.B.A. She also completed post graduate work in accounting from Temple University.

Recognition

For more than 20 years, Myra has continually received recognition for her efforts within the family law arena, as well as in her local community and various other initiatives. A list of Honors and Awards appear to the right, and a complete list is shown on Myra’s complete CV.

In The Community

Myra is also a significant contributor to the San Diego community. She has been actively involved in the school systems as well as other legal volunteer roles since 1997. Being an active member in community organizations is important to Myra. She typically volunteers for board positions, co-chairing of international events, and serves in key leadership roles such as Treasurer, Vice President, and President.

Fleischer has many associations and organizations she has been associated with for more than a decade. Others she ebbs-n-flows with based on needs, her family priorities, and what she is up to with Fleischer & Ravreby. In 2003 and 2006, Myra was awarded the Wiley W. Manual Pro Bono Services Award for her volunteer efforts though the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program. In 2005, she was awarded the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program Distinguished Service Award. She lives with her husband, Charlie, and their three children.
