Located in downtown San Diego at 1122 Broadway, Suite 200, San Diego, the San Diego Family Justice Center is the first comprehensive “one-stop shop” in the nation for victims of family violence and their children. Under one roof, more than 25 agencies have come together to provide consolidated and coordinated legal, social, and health services to women, men, children, and families in need. Victims of family violence can now come to one location to talk to an advocate, get a restraining order, plan for their safety, talk to a police officer, meet with a prosecutor, receive medical assistance, and receive information on shelter.

The Domestic Violence Hotline and provides referrals to a variety of services including domestic violence shelter bed availability, counseling services, support groups, emergency food and clothing, legal services, anti-stalking information, and other available community resources.
The Family Law Team represents clients in contested family law cases involving child custody, visitation, support, domestic violence, and property division. As the custodial parent is generally the one with the greater need for assistance, representation of a non-custodial parent is uncommon, however exceptions are made in cases of frustration of court ordered visitation. Other exceptions to priorities include collection of child support cases where the non-custodial parent is disabled and therefore unable to pay child support. The team works only in the South County and East County Courts, however exceptions are made for emergency cases pending in the central San Diego and North County Courts.
The Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) provides the following services:
- Establish paternity
- Establish child and medical support orders
- Enforce/modify child and medical support orders
- Collect and distribute child and spousal support payments
